CLIMPACT Weather Competitiveness Services help Unilever anticipate Carte d’Or/Magnum ice cream and Knorr soup sales
CLIMPACT, the European leader in Climate Business Intelligence, puts its expertise to work for Unilever to help the group understand, measure and anticipate the weather's impact on its most "weather-sensitive" items: nearly 20 Carte d’Or/Magnum and Knorr products.
THE OBJECTIVE: to turn the risk associated with weather fluctuations into a competitive advantage
The Unilever Group, a major player on the mass consumer, hygiene and personal care market, has a large portfolio of leading brands in France. The CLIMPACT analysis have shown that sales of approximately 20 Carte d’or, Magnum and Knorr products are closely connected to the weather.
Weather can account for sales variations of up to 100% for some products during certain weeks. On average, 30% of the most "weather-sensitive" products' sales can be attributed to changes in the weather.
